I read the article. Yes, it infuriates me. Not just because they're cracking down on Hentai, no... it's also a fact that the Federal government has become so bloated and unwieldy that it puts a grim question as to whoever can possibly run such a gargantuan mess and still remain pure of intent. Some of the highest among that group in Washington don't even give enough respect to the Constitution, let alone follow its precepts.

This problem of censorship lies in the so-called "progressive" movement, a group of reformers who apply governmental action to instill societal change. It began in the early nineteenth century and continues today. No matter how well-intentioned these airheads and windbags are, they think the Constitution is "living", or malleable and subject to change (or extreme scrutiny).

They don't consider the implications of their social reforms as intrusive or unconstitutional, since they assume there is a clear and present need for change or reform, for the greater good of all of us. In other words, the progressives operate much like domineering parents or an abusive relationship where but one gets to call the shots and set the pace, and woe to anything that gets in its way. In the case of Hentai or pornographic material of like ilk, they draw upon their moral centers--their love of humanity and decency and equality and all that shit--to command the government into action against whatever witch they seek to ignite. Unfortunately, the results often infringe upon constitutional rights.

Most of these reformers want to establish a national identity, equality, a greater society, and a strong, utopian, centralized government that trumps the state and local constituencies... everything underneath it. They'll even subordinate the Creator in their vision--they're the sole arbiters and granters of rights. Essentially, progressivism is nothing but national socialism, communism, fascism... all of the above. It's the same meat on different kinds of bread. Note that none of these systems take the constitution of the United States very seriously... nothing but a stepping stone in their eyes toward securing power for themselves, idealism be damned.

So, yes. That article pisses me off.

The only consolation is that a pervert carrying child porn is rightfully imprisoned. Unfortunately, hentai is not the "gateway drug" that the "experts" (the elite group of highly skilled professionals of whom the progressives often defer to when deciding what to do with the rest of us) will claim. They make the same claim about the cannabis plant, that it brings its user to try everything out, from crack cocaine to paint chips. The progressives fail to realize that the overall illicit drug culture does the trick... "show me your friends and I'll show you your future", goes the saying. What goes into the mouth isn't what kills you, but what comes out of the mouth. And you speak a whole lot more in the presence of others, true? So, who are you hanging out with? ...Exactly. The defendant likely dwelled with a sour crowd who secretly delighted in pedophilia. It would have been prudent to wave a lighter sentence before his nose on the odd chance that he'd rat out his sick compatriots. In any case, the hentai alone doesn't make a criminal.

However, as the progressives keep banning questionable material, they'll grow more and more paranoid and look for more things to burn in the pile, and then other things that are nowhere near being questionable. It's their own addiction to power that does it. It gives them a buzz whenever they stick a few more string-threaded needles into anyone and everything, from automotive plants to constitutional precedents. Did you know these punks' Amendment Fourteen instituted the Federal Income Tax?

So, don't just get pissed off. Figure out ways to reclaim what the constitution expressly grants its citizens. The dead end of the progressives' road is a dictatorial, totalitarian setup. When that happens, kiss the NG BBS Goodbye. Kiss Hentai Goodbye immediately afterward. Hell, say Goodbye to your souls, if you haven't already.

Unless, of course, you decide not to be pissed, but pissed off and looking to get even with these clusterfucks....

I would go as far as to say NO, you don't have to grow b00bies for your V.A. demo reels to get attention on Newgrounds. Here, let me ellaborate.

((((PERSONAL DISCLAIMER:: I in NO way what-so-ever claim to know WTF is going on. This is MERELY my humble opinions on the matters at hand. For I have only been an ACTIVE member here for a few weeks now.))))

1) Other than posting several mini-daily blogs how WOULD people know you have 2 submissions out there just waiting to be voted, reviewed and favorited?

2a) Post in ANY forums you find entertaining or even remotely interesting.
Visit the audio forums if you haven't already. They're scrum-diddly-umptious<3
Make sure to aim towards like-minded groups 'o' peeps, as well.
2b) Make sure to couple your forum posting with a LINK in your siggy to your work (remember to make people WANT to see what it leads to).

3) Go post comments, reviews and votes on OTHER people's pages and simply ASK them to come check YOU out.
I CAN NOT express enough just HOW important your own self promotion is! Really, think about it, most everyone else is pretty busy trying to get people to come review THEIR stuff, and that makes sense.

4) This is BY FAR some of the best advice I have recieved as of yet, here, and by here, I mean particularly the audio portal, "Don't start to feel overwhelmed". I know it's hard NOT to, with like, hundreds of brand new submissions coming on strong every single day but, try.

5) I checked out your page and all I saw was 2 subs (BOTH of which only totalled 2 minutes and 29 seconds together). Maybe you could try making at least a 3 minute long skit about something? I've HEARD that flash artists like to hear their potential character voices for a MINIMUM of 4 minutes (so they can get a more true sense of what our voices can really do, with fluidity to boot).
Just imitate someone silly in your life and create a 3 or 4 minute scene based around something obscure OR dramatic, your choice of feel is up to YOU and who you're aiming towards getting them to listen. *remembers to breathe*

6) DON'T give up. This is probably the second MOST important advice I have to offer. The MOST importantly would HAVE to be your own self promotion. For realz, Man. I can't stress it enough. Seriously. Truly.
Many people have no fekkin' clue what it is they're lookin' for until they hear somebody speaking it already, ya know? Create a few "characters" you can toss around, then you should have an easier time coming up with some dialogue for them. Charm those darn animators! Just like a snake charmer and his cheese eating Cobra. *thinks of Dana Carvey in Master of Disguises and regrets he didn't get as much credit as was deserved for that goofy little ditty - goofball comedy but clean for EVERYone*
I'm obviously an epic fail when it comes to men's voices, well, ones that have already hit puberty anyway, so who the f*ck am I to say, right?

I disagree about it being dreadful, nor do I wank to it, seeing as how I don't HAVE a wanker (I guess I can't say that none of it is attractive to me though or why WOULD I like it, right?). Sorry to hear about your rock problem. Needing tangible stimuli is not a uncommon though, so that's good. I am a very tactile person, so I'm not sure about fans of hentai NOT liking the lack of touch. Yeah, I'll go as far to say that I disagree with that one too. Well I personally would love to work with you some day. In fact, this one VA liked my Mario impression and he suggested that we should do a Super Mario Bros. voice collab someday and I suggested YOU to voice Princess Peach...now ain't that fun?
